Inspections
Access audits
We can tell you how to make your building accessible
We do access audits on existing buildings and identify areas that don’t meet current access standards.
An existing, unaltered building does not need to meet today’s access standards, but any alterations will trigger some of the current requirements.
An access audit report gives you the information you need to:
- understand access shortfalls
- meet current access standards
- meet ‘best practice’ outcomes – if desired
- plan for future building upgrades
- minimise the risk of discrimination complaints.
An access audit report can also be used to support a formal discrimination complaint.
Access compliance
We can inspect your building construction to make sure it complies
As part of the building permit process, we can do building inspections during the construction phase or at the end of your project. After each inspection, we provide a report outlining any defects or a statement of compliance for work that meets current access standards.
Due diligence
We can provide access advice before you buy a property
Before you buy a property, you should check to see if there are any significant access issues. We can inspect the building and write a due diligence access report, highlighting key areas that don’t meet access standards.
You can use the report to negotiate the property value or plan future upgrade works. We can also arrange a quantity surveyor to help with cost estimates.
