Access advice

If you find disability access standards confusing, you’re not alone

We explain the relevant access standards, for example the Premises Standards or AS1428.1, to help you get the approvals you need.

We use the term ‘access standards’ to cover federal and state legislation, building codes and standards. In reality, there are overlaps, inconsistencies and interpretations to consider, so we make it our business to know the details and give you the advice you need.

You may need access advice for a variety of projects including:

  • new buildings
  • existing building alterations
  • streetscape work
  • recreational spaces
  • home modifications
  • temporary structures for events.
